“is it okay if I put these here.”
I looked up and didn’t want to explain that I was on a diet.
So I said “I’m diabetic I can’t have donuts.”
“So it’s not a problem?” she said
I looked at her with the same disgusted face, a face writhing in agony, a face that clearly did not want to be anywhere near as those doughnuts.
“I’ll just put them somewhere else.” She said taking the full box of donuts elsewhere
I don’t think she meant to be mean.  And I didn’t try to come off like an douche bag.
But those donuts smelled so good.
